Fees, Appointments & Administration
I offer an introductory Consultation. This is an opportunity to meet each other, explore how counselling might help you and from there establish a basis for moving forward. At this stage there is no commitment to further meetings. As a Counsellor I will work with you at your pace.
Counselling sessions £40 for 1 hour session.
Couples counselling £45 per 1 hour session.
Payments can be made by cheque or electronic BACs payments.
Reduced fee sessions are available on a limited basis for student counsellors, carers and clients on low income.
I work flexibly from my Private Calm Studio during week days, evenings and week ends.
Traditionally Counsellors see clients once a week for 50 minutes to 1 hour. Some clients value seeing their counsellor at a fixed time and day each week.
I currently work with counselling students within placement, qualified counsellors and other professionals who have a need for supervisory support.
Fees: £40 per hour for 1:1 & Group sessions.
£30 per session for students.
Bespoke Retreat Day and Fees
I offer bespoke Retreat days for clients who need a day away to replenish, a restorative day following a stressful event such as loss or bereavement. The bespoke Retreat day is replenishing, an opportunity to recharge, redefine and refocus in a quiet, calm and supportive space. Prices available on request.
Mill House Retreat Centre is a stones throw away from my Studio, one of Devons best kept secrets. Excellent for a "get away" from the maddening crowds, a day retreat or a group meeting or conference. A place of nature, charm, kindness, log fires, breadmaking and calm abounds there http://millhouseretreats.co.uk/

Administration & Confidentiality
Counselling is confidential, sometimes you may wish to let someone know you are seeing a counsellor but that is your decision. I will never call you unless you are happy for me to do so or acknowledge you outside the counselling room unless you are comfortable with that.
Confidentiality may be broken if I feel you, or someone else, may be in danger, if possible I will try to discuss this with you first. I also discuss issues with my supervisor as part of my professional role and responsibility as set out by the BACP.
I keep notes as per BACP guidelines and the data protection act 1998 and GDPR 2018, they are available if you wish to see them, they are stored securely. Notes are for my professional use only and do not contain any identifiable details. Your personal details are stored separately.
I do not distribute newsletters or send out any bulk emails adhering to the GDPR Guidance ( General Data Protection Regulations ) May 2018. I liase 1:1 with clients using their preferred method of communication.
I keep notes for three years should you wish to return to see me, at that point they are destroyed.
I hold a 24 hour cancellation policy, this allows sessions or meetings to be offered to other clients. Appointments cancelled without 24 hours notice will incur a full charge. Note I am sympathetic to extenuating circumstances.
